BPWrap : I Twitter Therefore I Am

  • Wingnut · 1 year ago
I didn't get the point of twitter right when I signed up... but now that I do get it - I really don't know how I lived without it.

As I learn to keep up with and follow more and more people it becomes more and more useful.

I agree, Wingnut. You've got to find the right crowd to follow, but then it's like having an extended brain. :)

Twitter is really nice place to let yourself be heard. At first, I was a bit uncomfortable with the 140 characters limit but now I'm getting used to it. I realized it's just enough for me to let my thought be heard with those character limit.

Twitter was flakey again this morning around 7am Pacific time. Looks like they were moving to a new hosting company, getting ready for the Superbowl! http://blog.twitter.com/2008/01/happy-happy-joy...

Suddenly, it seems as though all the world's a-twitter.

I don't like twitter, can't understand how to do. But I found another better one, Mobicue (http://www.mobicue.com). It allows users to update any photos, videos, or text and more in real time from their camera phones, and immediately shows them to friends on Mobicue. Mobicue encourages its users to invite and stay closer with their friends by sharing what they are up to instantly. The service also has a mobile client that supports all popular phones.

That mobicue looks pretty stylish, carolin. I guess it depends where your friends like to hang out. It seems that more and more people like the minimalist approach that Twitter offers. 140 characters forces you to condense your thoughts. You can also check out a lot of contacts very rapidly. For many people, that seems to be what they're looking for.

Barry - I never could catch on to the Twitter movement. Small blurbs about what people are doing at that exact moment. Just didn't capture me. I guess like you stated above, I must not have found the right crowd....

An old friend of mine, Howie Schwartz, has found a way to drive a solid amount of traffic from twitter to his various sites and offerings.

Bite sized information and contacts seems to be an ongoing trend.
