You got me thinking about what I've been trying to do with my own site. I have been focussed with getting up the rankings and now that is starting to happen I need to be thinking about how to get people to notice me and buy stuff.

After success of all those social media sites, i thought it is enough but it is not. I think there is more to come. I don't know hwy they needed to start such a service in presence of myweb. I think they are almost the one and same thing.

Personally, I feel Chrome is faster than firefox. But i'm sticking with ff as i need my extensions.

The limit on the meta description is really just to prevent your description looking too spammy. It should be short and concise to describe the page with a good variance of keywords.

It's so getting to the point where there are too many bookmarking sites to keep up! I know there are tools to help you submit your stuff, but it takes such a long time!! I suppose with this being something to do with Yahoo, it adds a little weight to the argument whether to use it or not.

I think you're missing the point. It's not like a pyramid scheme at all. Basically you give something for free because you know people will use it (and use it out) and then buy replacement parts from you.

It's a bit like selling printers for dirt cheap but charging £££ for ink cartridges.

I was under the impression that meta description helps but I did not know the standard 155 characters or less also adds to the advantage. I changed my meta description as soon as I read the post and made it to exactly 151 words. Thanks Barry.

Seems like an interesting new way of social bookmarking. Currently I find Delicious and Digg a good solutions, but a new system is always worth a try.

Had a quick look, it seems like a reasonable system, although I am unsure whether or not I will be a frequent user.

Cuil was huge for the first few weeks of it's launch; and then it just dropped all of a sudden. Also, Google has come out with a new browser Chrome. Currently on BETA but looks promising.

No It is not monopolization, I think this is called growing information networks. I think Google is helping to set some standards. This is not monopoly but it is going towards a perfect competition.

Many super duper products on this plant still have ambiguities. I am not sure but May be Knol is one of that. I am not in the favor not against such applications but Google Knol is not as popular as its other applications. May be they need more content and more authenticated info. It is not easy task to get published on WIKI, I think that's why wiki is so informative and useful.

Clusty seems pretty good but it appears to be giving an edge to older websites, making some search results not that relevant.

hmmm.. so there will be an upcoming google killer.. there's this search engine site that was developed by some former elite engineers from google, i'm talking about http://www.cuil.com .... there's lots of search engine sites coming up to compete with google, but i doubt if they can outrun google.
