Live/MSN for example forces you to go do a Map search. The Microsoft patent application illustrates some of the difficulties of trying to understand a location intention in a user's query, but I'm not sure that the method described within the patent application is in place - a search through the &lt;a href="http://live.com" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" title="live.com"&gt;live.com&lt;/a&gt; SERPS leaves me no reason to believe so.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;There is a lot of potential for local search.
